You gave an excellent description about it but does it work for pokemon that are trained with no rare candies or anything of the sort?

Yes, so box trick your lv100's until they reach the max stats they can gain. If you read further here you're also find out how to catch and train the pokemon of your choice with max stats.

Yes, but it's not as needed. It shouldn't take very long to max them out, but you'll probably still need it a bit.

If you train regularly with out candies, than you won't need the box trick because you would have gained all the stat exp you could. Unless you had Elite Four led then switched from level one, cause then you'd gain like 4 levels at once..

When training level 100's is it best to keep battling with the Elite Four and Gary.
I wondered if after you get 'THE END' do you lose the hidden EXP you just got because it 'kinda' resets and saves doesn't it?

You get to keep the stat exp from fighting the E4. Wouldn't be worth it otherwise...I guess except for the money.

Yeah it saves the stat experience, I know because for a long time that's how I box tricked my Pokémon.

OK, I have a new question.
Say I have two versions, blue and yellow.
My six level 100 pokemon are from Blue (ID, OT etc)
So I'm training them for the box trick against the E4.
Is it better to do this on the other (yellow) version because of the boosted exp or is it worse or the same because I'm really after the hidden exp?

If they're already level 100, it won't matter which one you do them in -- stat exp isn't affected by trading (just normal EXP) and level 100 pokemon don't gain anymore exp.

But, if you wqant to raise a stat quickly, the best thing to do is to hunt down pokemon with that stgat high (for example, find Chanseys to raise HP). If it turns out that there are more pokemon high in a stat you want in one version, use that one (for example, if you wanted to max out HP first, a hypothetical Pink Version where the only pokemon you find is Chansey would be best.)

If you don't use a Shark to fight nothing but Chanseys, tho, it's best just to pick a place (E4 or Cerulean Cave, probably) and just kill everything you encounter.

Since all that matters is time at that point, no point searching for particular species.

Of course, if you have a Shark, you can just save even more time and Shark up max stats...

I find the unknown dungeon not very good for this, cos of the way it has some random pokemon in there. For speed, I train in the power plant. For HP, the Seafoam Islands. This certainly seems to work.

I have a question...........
If you save it and turn the gameboy off......will the hidden HP dissapear?

I'm not sure what you mean by "hidden HP" If you're referring to the Stat EXP, which you can't see, if you save your game and turn the gameboy off it should not disappear.

One of the best places to build your poke up post lvl 100 would be the cerulean but by being selective you can build them up faster.

the easiest way to do this is by going to the lowest level and fight only rhydons Kadabras Chansey and Electrodes. They will give you the best all around stat exp in the long run for their respective types.

In yellow the E4 is the best place to train seeing as though the pokes in the cave got changed around a bit.

good luck
