Hey check this out:
I found this on pokemon forever, ya know meowth346's page.
Stoneless Evolution! If you have a pokemon with a stone evolution, and you don't have/want a stone, you can still evolve with this trick. It all depends on who you have. First, put the pokemon who you want to evolve without a stone on the first slot on your belt. Then, put these pokemon on the 2nd slot depending on their hex value:
HEX PKMN Stone
0A...Exeggutor..Moon
20...Missingno..Fire
21...Growlithe..Thunder
22...Onix.......Water
2F...Psyduck....Leaf
After you do this, make the pokemon on the first slot gain a level, and it should evolve! I can't test it now, but can someone confirm this? Thanks!

Ummm... you didn't really find it since Meowth already knew about it...

Also there's been at least one post identical to this earlier...

Actually, you have to "piggyback" the Pokemon you want to evolve with the hex-determined Pokemon. Start the with one you want to evolve, then switch out to Exeggutor/Growlithe/whatever and defeat the enemy. Do this until the first Pokemon evolves.

Does this work on the Yellow Pikachu? And is there a way to make the trade evolutions (Kadabra/Haunter/etc.) evolve this way?

Well this can be done on Yellow (not sure if the same Pokémon though). I don't think we can have trade evolutions with this trick though since I'm sure the only reason this works is that those certain Pokémon are directly related to those items (same hex?). *shrugs* Though anything that comes out of my mouth should be taken with a grain of salt. ^_^

So, THAT'S how my Pikachu evolved at L.25 without using a stone. That makes sense...

During a trainer battle, Pikachu grew to L.25 after beating the first opponent. Then I sent out Growlithe to finish off the next two. After the battle, Pikachu evolved! That's pretty wild, especially since that all happened by pure unadulterated coincidence.

Givera: Well, actually in technicly I found it on Meowths page
Yes the items have the same hex values as the pokemon, thats how it happens. Umm, I doubt it would work to evolve gamelink pkmn.

It would be nice considering now there's 7 stones and you can get most of them only once per week -_- (IIRC)

I'm sure they wouldn't put the same glitch in G/S but maybe there's a similar way to exploit it...
