Actually, there IS a formula for exp for Charmander, etc, it's just not a single term... The formula to reach level L is:

Exp needed =1.2(L^3)-15(L^2)+100L-140 minus the fraction

*checks training section*

Slow = 1.05986 (L^3)*

eg, Abra needs
1059860 EXP for L100

Unfortunately, Slow Pokmon do not have a consistent multiplier throughout their growth; the ones listed here accurately predict only the EXP needed to reach L100. For Slow Pokmon, the multiplier value begins at less than 0.5 (that is, when going from L2 to L3), and increases with each level up to L100, terminating at 1.05986. For the other three rates, however, the same multiplier can be used to find the required EXP at any level.

That isn't the formula I wrote at all.

The formula I gave was 1.2X^3 - 15X^2 + 100X -140 , exactly what you have.

It was on the old AH page, and you can check that I'm telling the truth by looking up growth rates on Deja and checking my posts to AGNP.

Here's some more of my old page on AH...

Bellsprout/Weepinbel/Victreebel: Beta.

Needs....

L3- 57
L4- 96
L5- 135
L7- 236
L8- 314
L9- 419
L15- 2035
L16- 2535
L21- 6458
L23- 8825
L24- 10208
L52- 133229
L55- 159635
L100- 1059860
(That's what I typed into my graphics calculator, anyway. One or two listings might be off, but the formula I ended up with works.)

I wonder how this slipped through the cracks?
I remember stating the original formula as a decimal, but I definately corrected it.

Fanha: For any level not divisible by 5, it gives you a fractional number of experience points needed -- for example, for level 4, the formula gives 96.8... just drop off the .8 to get the number needed (96).
