Hi! I enjoy experimenting with colors, and I've found one that I haven't heard anyone mention before. I named my Vaporeon Hope after one of my favorite hamsters who also has that name, and it has green ears and an almost purplish tint on the outer rim! I don't know how much this has to do with its name or it's ID number. I've found changing the capital letters and adding exclamation points can make a difference too. For example I named my Articuno Breeze, and it was indistinguishable from an ordinary Articuno but when I added and exclaimation point it had a slightly darker shade. I named my pidgot Tweety prefectly ordinary until I capitalized TWEETY and now it's a very distinct darker brown color. So name your pokemon anything, you never know what you may get! ------------------

Heheh, green electrics. I can't stand when Stadium makes my electrics green. My jolteon was named PSION and it was light green; I changed it to AMPERE and it became a nice dark amber. My favorite crazy-color pokemon is my mewtwo named DIABLO. His whole body is shades of dark blue and white, and his eyes glow green when he attacks. Looks so cool when using thunderbolt. Well, in Pokemon, lowercase letters have higher hex values than uppercase letters, so, how light or dark the Pokemon is probably has to do with the hex codes of the first two characters. If I'm correct, AA at the beginning would make the Pokemon the darkest color and [female sign][female sign] would make it the lightest shade.Just a thought.... ------------------ [EDIT]Its probably relative to the default name, so, for example, an Alakazam named CLAKAZAM would be about as much lighter as a Lapras named NAPRAS. That would explain why a Ninetales named TAILFLARE and a Rhydon named STOMPER would be lighter and a Gengar named CREEPER would be darker. I still have no ideas about the ID#s though, not enough samples.... Same thing with Lapras named Waterslam being lighter, Jolteon named PSION being lighter, and when named AMPERE being darker. There are some exceptions, though. Either the name thing is more complex or ID#s are causing this.[/EDIT] [This message has been edited by Alakazam!!!! Dante: I had a Raichu named Rocky (Capital letter followed by lowercase) that was bright yellow. Now the Raichu I have is dark orange and his name is TSUNAMI.This is what I've concluded through observation: I have three Mewtwo: (They have the same Trainer # and Name) SPECIALIST--> Reddish-Purple LASTCHANCE--> Reddish-Purple EL CHEAPO-->Standard Mewtwo color Notice Specialist and Last Chance have the same number of letters and they are all in CAPS. EL CHEAPO has CAPS, less letters and a space in his nickname. Color must be dependent the # of letters, CAPS or Lowercase, and if the name has inversed syllable like Pidashra (Rapidash). Probably symbols also affect it, but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm going to test it with different OT names, OT #'s, Capitals, lowercase, the works. (I'll use Gameshark to modify the #'s, names, etc.)
I'll post up the results when I'm done researching. ------------------ Meet the Polkaband and the 27 Polkamon!

I started researching that way, and it is a shit load of work. Reaserch halted a bit due to the fact that Charmeleons have subtle color tones that can't be so readily recognized at oak's lab. That small fact screwed my data up. Hmm I'm going to look for a pokemon with more color tones that aren't so damn subtle to restart research. Give me its OT Trainer name and ID number, and I'd be happy to shark it, then evolve it and tell you. I'd also need to know if it's a yellow version pikachu or one from the red and blue. Anyone else who is curious about what favorite pokemon would look like in Stadium if they evolved it, I'd be happy to do the same. ------------------ After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring.
