Thoughts?
Also, I don't think there's an '08 Presidential election topic yet, so I guess we can broaden this thread to encompass...everything.

I'm not high on Obama anymore after reading the policies he has on his website >_<
I guess I'll just vote for McCain. Haven't researched him at all yet.

I like Obama because he appears to actually know what technology is, whereas other candidates only know that technology is "something we have." My boy Barack supports net neutrality (fuck Comcast) and he wants to lay fiber all over the country so that we have actual an actual broadband infrastructure instead of this 6-8Mbit bullshit that has Europe, Japan, and the rest of the world laughing at our stupid sorry asses.
I don't know if Obama knows anything about the faggot American wireless cartel and how that needs to be annilihated, but I'd trust him to figure it out a hell of a lot sooner than McCain.
McCain wants to keep pissing away taxpayer money on the war (I thought you republican shitstains promoted fewer wasteful government programs?) which will only hold back a stronger American tech infrastructure also known as the only issue I give a shit about, and he would also love to stick his withered old dick into into things he absolutely doesn't understand.
Barack's health care thing looks OK, so that's neat. My brother is really excited about that; I am more inclined to believe that the purchase of health care should be delegated to the private sector. Then again, I just had to drop $6K on wrist surgery (with insurance), so if the government thinks they can do it cheaper that would be fine with me. I guess I just don't trust them not to waste a shitload of time and money yet accomplish nothing, as they've been apt to do.
More than anything, I don't want to see another GOP retard in office after this eight year clusterfuck (courtesy of same), and I'm willing to play ball in spite of our Hurf Durf Two Parties and Only Two Parties So Like It, Friends! shitparade electing mechanism in hopes of seeing that happen.
I like Nader too, but it's too easy to like Nader. I'm legitimately excited about going to the polls in November to vote for someone who might become president for the first and potentially only time ever, and not against someone like I had to do last time.
EDIT: I feel inclined to remind you all that if Barack becomes president we will become the first nation to have subsidized forties on every street corner and he will almost assuredly appoint a Secretary of Keepin' It Real. ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

I was thinking about Iraq and thought, why not give Iraq to China?

OMFG Azure must be dying! A political thread starring Nader where Mr. K doesn't post for weeks.
The inbox full of people I haven't approved for the forum finally got to me, so I'm posting...although I might lose interest soon and forget to allow the new people in. Whatever.
I like Barack because he's the adult in the room. Hillary says a bunch of bullshit, spoiling for a fight, and he just refuses to take the bait, and makes her look cheap for even bringing it up (which she is).
I might actually vote for the negro. The only thing that would make me vote for someone else is if he puts Hillary on the ticket.
It's good that Nader is in the race, because he brings up all kinds of stuff that otherwise people wouldn't talk about. It sucks, though, because he has to crowbar it all into every interview, all of which are about wtf he won't just roll over and die.
kalibut: I guess I just don't trust them not to waste a shitload of time and money yet accomplish nothing, as they've been apt to do.
This is something Republicans like to make a fuss about, but Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are some of the most successful social programs in the history of history and are far more efficient than private insurance companies. There are some things the government can do cheaply and effectively, even if there is mediocrity every step of the way, just based on the economy of scale.
The Republicans have also just blown $41 million to send you a letter saying that you're going to get a check in a little while. Gotta love that legendary "fiscal responsibility". Never mind the $3 trillion for Iraq. They could have sent every American a check for $10K for that.
I'm legitimately excited about going to the polls in November to vote for someone who might become president for the first and potentially only time ever, and not against someone like I had to do last time.
That would really be something. It's funny that this is the sort of thing my generation has claimed to want ever since I can remember, but all those stupid humans with vaginas are still voting for Hillary because she menstruates. Or at least she did at one time. Allegedly.
At least black people finally noticed there's a black guy running.
