Do you guys ever find the computer is always scoring critical hits and hitting with rare hit attacks in Stadium?

Take this battle for example I had against the computer today...

AI sends out Golbat
Ryuujin sends out Dragonite

Golbat uses Confuse ray - Sucessful
Dragonite uses T-wave - Sucessful

Dragonite uses Double edge - Misses
AI uses Take down - Critical hit - 40% damage inflicted

Dragonite uses Double edge - Hurt itself!
Golbat uses Take down - Critical hit! - 40% damage inflicted

Dragonite uses Hyper-beam - Hurt itself!
Golbat uses take down - Critical hit! - Dragonite KO'd!

Ok - thats very annoying - me never hitting him and him critical hitting me to death...

Ryuujin sends out Gyarados

Gyarados uses Thunderbolt - Miss!
Golbat uses Confuse ray - Sucessful!

Gyarados uses thunderbolt - Hurt itself
Golbat uses Take down - 25% damage inflicted

Gyarados uses thunderbolt - Ko'd Golbat!

Well it was about freaking time! - I mean how could I lose with a Gyarados using thunderbolt?

AI sends out Moltres

Moltres uses Toxic - Sucessful!
Gyarados uses Hydro pump - Hurt itself

Moltres uses fire spin - Critical hit!
Gyarados can't move!

<<<5 turns later Gyarados dies of Toxic but hurts Moltres badly>>>

Ryuujin sends out Seadra

Moltres uses take down - Critical hit!
Seadra uses surf - Critical hit! - Moltres faints

Woohoo! - I got a critical hit for a change! - the computer did that to make it look like its not cheating...

AI sends out Tentacruel

Seadra uses DT
Tentacruel uses Toxic - Sucessful!

Seadra uses Toxic - fails (I forgot his poison type)
Tentacruel uses Barrier

Seadra uses DT
tentacruel uses Barrier

Seadra uses DT
tentacruel uses Barrier

Seadra uses DT
Tentacruel uses Hydro pump - Hits (despite 4 DT)

<<<I tell Seadra to use Rest - but Tentacreul goes first this time(!?)>>>

Tentacruel uses Hydro pump - Critical hit! - Seadra faints

If you bothered to read the above you would notice the computer was getting critical hits at a way above average rate - and yet my attacks were missing or not inflicting full damage to them - and right at the last moment I was taken down by a hydro pump (low hit rate) which managed to go before me (odd) and Critical hit (rarer)...

...the thing is from listen to other Azurians you notice that I'm not alone - how many of you agree stadium has some kind of fixing in it? - this wasn't a one off for me - in fact a Pesrian mysteriously KO'd a Mewtwo with barrier using two Take downs! - same level!
In fact the only battle I fought where I got more critical hits was against a Clefaggot which kept using seismic toss (no critical hit possible)

Yep, it does.

I was playing on hard in free battle, and had a Mew out. I swords dances up fully, and kept swifting. I got 8 crits in a row, followed by none, then 3 more. And I was vs a Starmie with recover. Grr..

Mr K posted about a Dugtrio vs Pidgeot. The Pidgeot went first.

It's really annoying when the AI paralyzes my pokemon and KO's them all with horn drill on the next turn. It's just weird that the Horn drills don't miss for having nearly 33% accuracy.

It happens, I get it more often though

I don't remember the who battle but....
(In the ring was Dewgong)
AI sent out Nidoking

NidoKing used Horn drill
It K.O. Dewgong

I sent out Golem (last pokemon)

Kidoking used Horn Drill
It missed

The AI did not used T-wave and still K.O my Dewgong

Now that we are on the topic of Stadium, does anyone know how to kill Giovanni's Persian
Slash
bubblebeam
????
????
I think thunder/bolt is in there somewhere. Thanks for your help

Oh, it's definately not luck. All skill... at cheating.

People have verified that it DOES cheat. Quite a bit actually.

Well, I used a Starmie with Minimize, Recover, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt, but I don't reccomend that. The battle was basically me minimizing ONCE, continuous recovering until the Persian misses, minimize again, etc. It got a TON easier when it ran out of PP for Slash.

The Stadium computer acts funny sometimes...

like today.

I was battling in the Gym Leader castle against one of Erika's minions and kept getting critical hits in a row. Even after switching I still kept getting critical hits without the aid of Focus Energy. All her pokemon passed out in four hits.

Oh Yeah, Giovanni's wretched Persian has:
Screech
Slash
Thunderbolt
Bubblebeam

Try using Gengar, it worked for me.

Stadium is surprisingly lucky but cheating I think not. I Have trouble facing my own mewtwo. I get my snorlax fully double teamed and amnesied up and mewtwo gets a string of critical hits killing snorlax and completely neglecting the fact that I have six doule teams in place! Does anyone else have this problem with double team and minimize or is it just me?

Do I really need a sig?

Hmmm, haven't tried it but doubt it. Persian is too fast for any of the fighting types.

Could work, but I have to use rented pokemon b/c none of mine are at lvl 100.

Yes, it happened to me, except I wasn't fully minimized. It really pisses people off when that happens

Yeah - the DT/minimise thingy - check this:

tentacruel hit me 3 times in a row with Hydro pump despite 5 DT's - critical hitting 2 of those times.

Lets see:

Hydropump accuracy = 79.7%
DT five times = 67.1%
-------------
53.4% chance of hitting once
-------------
15.2% chance of hitting 3 times in row (like he did)

If take into account the critical hits the chances are even smaller! - sure - 15% chance of managing this - but games like this don't happen once every 6 games like the statistics show - in fact at gym leader castle they are a regular occurance!

I've noticed this doesn't happen as often during free battles - mainly during gym leader castle battles...

Actually, the chance of hitting through 5 DTs would be 32.9%, so the calculation is:

0.329 * 0.797 = 26.2% chance of hitting once
0.262 * 3 = 1.8% chance on hitting three times

This happens to me all the time, in Stadium, and TCG.

In the Trading card game, it seems like when the game lies on a coin flip, I end up losing.

In Stadium, not only does it get critical hits, it also gets hits with low accuracy moves (Even after several DTs). When I pull off a move that has advantage against the other type, like Gyrados using T-Bolt on Pigeot, it always seem to get it down to 10% life or something close. When ever a Stat change comes along, that can prevent attacks, it seems like they get free moves all the time, but I'm stuck hitting myself. When they use Ice moves, it always almost seems like it freezes, where as no mater how many times I try, it never does.

Man does it tick me off!!
