I have a Lv85 Kyogre. It has 294 Special Attack and 299 Special Defense. I use Calm Mind 6 times. It works every single time.

No Boosts: 294/299
1 Boost: 441/448
2 Boosts: 588/598
3 Boosts: 735/747
4 Boosts: 882/897
5 Boosts: 1029/1046
6 Boosts: 1176/1196

Good. It doesn't make sense to just randomly stop increasing your stats beyond a certain point, especially if you're just a lay trainer and Mewtwo's Amnesia inexplicably has no effect after the second use.

A Snorlax with max Attack IV, full EV, and an Attack-boosting personality gets exactly 1400 AT from Belly Drum.

Help?

Calm Nature. IV15-16 Special Attack. IV10 Special Defense. I basicly fed my Lv45 Kyogre 10 Calcium, 10 Zinc and 40 Rare Candies.

Hmm, I'd like to run some damage calculations after 4/5/6 Calm Minds, since it's theoretically possible that the 999 cap remains, but just doesn't cause a "failed" message anymore.

I didn't use Calm Mind, but the Stat cap should be universal. I used Bulk Up instead, results as follows:

Attack: 291
1 use - 436
2 uses - 582
3 uses - 727
4 uses - 873
5 uses - 1018
6 uses - 1164
Going under the assumption that the 999 stat cap no longer exists, of course.

Damage was measured with ten hits in each level of modification, with CHs thrown out for consistency.
0 uses - range: 14-16
4 uses - range: 40-47
5 uses - range: 48-54
6 uses - range: 54-61

The increase in damage from the 5th to 6th uses, as well as the range of the 6th use being within a 300% increase over no uses, it is confirmed that the 999 stat cap is gone.

With values able to go as high as they can now, it can be assumed that there was no new safeguard limit put in to replace the old 999 one.

Continue's back!

Thanks for researching this and the Rapin Spin thing. Battle testing is a lot tougher without emulator linking. [Frown]

Agreed...all the good emu coders just sorta dropped off. I've been doing some research into GBA linking and it's really not as hard to emulate as the VisualBoy guys are bellyaching...

A decent coder could do it...maybe once I hit second or third year in Software Eng. I'll code it myself...who knows?
