Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Screenwipe (technically a 'television review' show rather than comedy, I suppose)

I don't really like most sitcoms. Something about the format just sucks. I fucking hate Seinfeld. I'd pay money to not have to watch it.

I saw one funny episode of Big Bang Theory and then watched four that sucked before I completely gave up.

All in the Family is still funny, because they say stuff that they're way too uptight to allow these days. The British Office was one of the greatest shows in teevee history. The American Office is watchable.

NewsRadio was fantastic until Phil Hartman died.

I have friends who swear by that How I Met Your Mother show, but I've seen two episodes and didn't like either of them.

Most I've laughed at the movies in recent years:
Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Crank

I enjoyed both those movies so much, I could have easily sat in my seat and immediately watched them again.

I saw crank on blu ray last week - was very pleasantly surprised (also the best blu ray I've seen yet).

I like the British comedy Coupling - i rarely watch it, but when I do and even though I don't know the characters or show I laugh. It is very well written.

Gilmore Girls is also very funny, more so the earlier seasons as the later ones had a different writer. Also very well written and great cast of characters. Takes some time to understand the plot lines though.

Also I recommend the film Beerfest. It is surprisingly great and very re-watchable. It has a fun, unpretentious and somewhat "smart" sense of humor than commonly befits a film named "Beerfest".

but seriously man. Don't watch TV. 25% of it is commercials - get Netflix and watch all the episodes on dvd or blu ray/hd dvd.

I download How I Met Your Mother, American version of Office, and 30 Rock on a weekly basis. HIMYM is pretty hit or miss; I think it's really funny overall, but that might be because I've been watching it since it premiered.

Commercials are the tools of the devil, but if I had one of those Nielsen boxes or whatever I would definitely watch my favorite shows with commercials when they broadcast to support them. There's a lot of enjoyable stuff on during primetime.
