Still somehow remember my password after all this time, wow.

So, anyone else quit WoW after TBC came out only to have one addiction replaced by another?

TBC really killed it, they completely dropped the ball. We used to raid like 4-5 nights a week, when we got to Khara everyone basically quit (I'd had enough when we killed Morose, haha).

good riddance imo. It's a fun game but I think it jumped the shark for me personally with the designers basically ignoring class balance issues for pvp. They took a stance that aims to please 'casuals' and in the process made every class pretty much a hybrid via unique abilities and talents. In the process hybrid classes such as myself got kinda cheesed.

it feels great to not have a current video game addiction - first time ever I think for me [Smile]

Nice timing. I just quit WoW last week (my account expires the 22nd), and I'm happily playing Diamond instead. It wasn't so much that TBC killed the game for me, it was that my guild was just completely gay after a huge influx of terrible applicants. That, and my guild master never had a proper role for me as a Paladin (no, you can go prot, but we're having feral druids and fury warriors tank over you anyway), so I got fed up and quit.

It does feel really good to be away from a serious videogame addiction, I agree. I feel really uplifted.

I quit last year in March. But got back into it in January.

When I quit, there wasn't that much going on for me (I was mostly content grinding and doing quests; I've never raided), and I was also wanting to check out City of Heroes. It was nice to be away from it, but after a while (and the make Love, Not Warcraft episode of South Park), I started to miss it.

I think taking time off from it helped me appreciate it more when I came back than if I had just stayed with it for all those extra months.
