Quoteth the radio station:

"You see, she wasn't trying to kill him for herself; she was doing it for her unborn child. You've heard of mother's love, now you get mother's fury."

Never going to see it.

Because of the radio person?

The movie is a cult film. Which mean most of the people who watch it will either hate it or love it. You can't trust critics here, unless you know they have the same tastes in movies as you do.

It's not my usual fare, but I can objectively say that it was a very well-done film. Tarantino is an excellent director. The fight scene in the snowy garden was ... beautiful. I don't know, there are too many words to describe it. It was really good.

What the fuck is up with Tarantino's obsession with Uma? My theory is that he really wants to have sex with her. Also Four Rooms sucked cummy donkey balls. So yeah, I am biased. But yeah, bacon is gooood....poke chops is goooood.

He isn't obsessed with her, but he did write the role just for her. He slowly incorporates his old actors though. Like having some of the resevoir dog guys in it, and then some of the RD guys were in Pulp Fiction too.

Jackie Brown had some of the same people, and those ones in all of them are now in Kill Bill. It's just how he does things...

They're just good friends. Uma came up with the original idea with him, and he wrote the rest of the story for her.

My theory is that he really has a lot of sex with her.

It was a good movie. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but most of the pokenerds will like it ok.

story being : "I USE sWordz and am 1 girl-powerin badazz!!1111!1"

???

also I can respect a director who likes an actor/ress but to me Tarantino's otherwise unquestionable creativity is dampened by the fact that he recycles the same actors. Why not fresh faces? But yeah, he's doing great the way he's doing things now, isn't he? But if *I* was a multi-millionaire director in Hollywood........

Before staring in a blockbuster actors usually have experience in other films, whether its by the same director or not is irrelevant.

Does the movie Blow suck because it uses the same actor as Donnie Brasco or Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas?

Okay, saw it last night, and will respond to some people right now.

Lander: If you think that quote is an accurate representation of what you should get out of this movie, you are completely wrong. The plot isn't the greatest plot in the history of movies, but it's decent, and it's not intended to be the strongest facet of the movie anyway. What you are supposed to enjoy about this movie is the perfect execution of all the little details: camera angles, sound, lighting, scenery, and all of Tarantino's subtle humor that does make the movie great.

gruco: The over-the-topness was intentional, and made me find the movie a lot more humorous. For example, every time a limb was cut off, incredible amounts of blood would be gushing out, and it sounded like a fucking high powered hose lol.

sC: Again, I think that all the kekekeness was part of the humor. Tarantino is big on making fun of pop culture in his movies, and that's exactly what he's doing with the GoGo character. The Asian/schoolgirl combo is intended to make fun of current fetishes.

Uma/Tarantino: There are a lot of directors that recycle actors. George Lucas has been known to use Harrison Ford a lot, and Kevin Smith seems to like using Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in his movies. It's not all that uncommon.

Yeah, it was good. Not great, but then it didn't really aspire to greatness. I loved all the Western-flavored Leone stuff.

Not good enough to rip into anyone who didn't like it, but much better than some of you are giving it credit for.

And many of the great directors recycled actors like crazy (Hitchcock, Leone, Huston, Allen (who I personally hate, but is well-respected), Coen brothers, etc.). It's not something to be ashamed of.
