Bleh. Stupid DT Milotic.

So far, I've gotten past 6 rounds without losing. The get really rough after the 5th though, seems to me. At least I got a nice leftovers from it....

Anyways, how's everyone doing on it? Any successful teams or strategies? The Salamence, Banette, and Milotic I threw together for level 50 don't quite seem to cut it...

Right now, my idea is to get someone who can Bulk Up well, someone who can Calm Mind well, and then some sorta offensive, pick up the pieces powderkeg. I dunno....

You get a couple awards for victory 50 and 100. Silver shield, award ribbon, gold shield. Do these things have any practical value at all, or are they just items to signify the elite?

And is there any difference between the level 100 and level 50 rooms aside from, um, levels?

I've beaten 7 rounds with a L48 Manectric, L41 Pelipper (with a sucky moveset, even) and L42 Blaziken. The Shields are given for 50 and 100 consecutive victories. 50 consecutive victories gets you another star for your Trainer Card, too.
My 7-in-a-row was pretty tenuous, so I'm going to train a bit more before trying for 50 consecutive wins.
Also, what did you mean about the Leftovers?

Edit: The shields are Secret Base decorations.

I got a leftovers as a prize after winning my 6th consecutive round.

Also, is that 50 consecutive rounds (350 trainers)?

I went 14-0 in the Battle Tower with a team consisting of:

Gardevoir- Calm Mind, Imprison, T-Bolt, Psychic *Leftovers*
Claydol- Earthquake, Ancientpower, Psychic, Cosmic Power *Shell Bell*
Hariyama- Vital Throw, Arm Thrust, Fake Out, Rock Tomb *Quick Claw*

Then my team got to L51 and I couldn't use them anymore. [Frown] The basic strategy was to lead with Gardevoir, Calm Mind once or twice, and then blow everything away. If I didn't like the matchup, Claydol and Hariyama covered each other's ass pretty well.

I think the rewards come in when you beat 50 and 100 trainers in a row.

Also, the lack of multiple Earthquake TMs is the suck, as my Metagross knows.

Oh - I misunderstood. I meant battle, not round (or rather I didn't think of a round as 7 battles.) I've won 7 battles. Got a Protien. So, the prizes get better in consecutive rounds? That's good to know... I was about to give up since single vitamins weren't worth the effort.
And the 50 and 100 are battles, not rounds.

On my first try, I used a very generic Linoone, Breloom, and Swellow L50 team to beat 26 trainers straight. A Relicanth stopped me at #27.

The Battle Tower didn't strike me as all that difficult. Certainly nowhere near as bad as it was in Crystal.

I'm using Latias, Dusclops and Medicham at lv100 category. 35 battles by now, but I was wondering if I battle now at lv 50 category, will they be as easy as first battles at Lv 100? So, we can reach easier the 50 battle requirement for a Star in Trainer Card.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything Thom, but that's sorta like saying that a marathon doesn't strike you as difficult after completing the first three miles. I never played Crystal for comparison's sake though.

So far, I've gotten up to 61 straight, until a DT/Leech Seed/Attract/Giga Drain Sceptile swept me. Gotta love being immobilized my love 4 times in a row as a CH giga drain breaks though 4 DTs...

*grumbles...* Eh, probably had it coming. I had a few lucky breaks earlier on.

I think I'm through with this thing for now. I'm not gonna go for 100 straight, I just wanna get a few more good in battle items. If I can get a white herb, brightpowder, and scope lens, I'll be happy.

Twinkle, the list of prizes after the 35th win -

Bright Powder
White Herb
Quick Claw
Mental Herb
Choice Band
King's Rock
Focus Band
Scope Lens
Leftovers

Pretty nice stuff...

I've won.... I think 42 consecutive battles, without losing a poke, yet. Level 50 Metagross, Meteor Mash + Psychic, even with 0 SpcAtt stat exp (His Attack DV and Defense DVs are both around 28+), and the odd time that he can't take the heat, I bring in Latios (Luster Purge), level 45, or Gardevoir (Not my good, bred one, but my breeder one), level 46, with Psychic and Hypnosis and Calm Mind.

Fun....

I've won 67 times in a row with the following...

Latias (Lem)
-Psychic
-Ice Beam
-Recover
-Calm Mind

Starmie (Left)
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Recover
-Light Screen

Slaking (chesto)
-Hyper Beam
-Earthquake
-Shadow Ball
-Rest

...Eventually, you start playing versus Rejis, Latios, Latias, Salamence, Metagross and other GOOD pokemon. Don't get me started on the Seaking with Agility/HornDrill/Rest/SleepTalk.

...or the Walrein with Deep Freeze

64 straight before a lucky Ice Beaming Milotic raped me:

Latias *Leftovers*
~Dragon Claw
~Psychic
~Recover
~Calm Mind

Pelipper *Shell Bell*
~Shock Wave
~Ice Beam
~Surf
~WING ATTACK

Camerupt *Quick Claw*
~Amnesia

Damn Milotic CHed Latias just as it got the fourth Calm Mind up. [Frown] I tried again but couldn't get past 35, and have since restarted the file.
