Hmmm... Looking over some Oddish Memorial Hall posts, and a few other forums, I have concluded that G/S has done its job. Its job, of course, is to make the game as balanced as possible, and to make every final evolution playable. We have people playing their favorites(from R/B/Y), like Lapras, Jynx, and the like. We have those who use the powerful dudes, 3 Legendarie Doggies, Ho-Oh, Lugia, ect. We have those playing proven standard movesets, like Starmie(Deathstar). And then there are just some who play what they want, and not having to worry if they are terrible. Me myself, I am using who I like. People no longer have to worry about using the powerful guys. I can recall EeveeTrainer's US battles, everyone used, Zapdos/Jolteon/Snorlax/Slowbro/Alakazam/ect. No one used the Scythers/Porygons/ect. because the stunk. G/S has done its job. Every pokemon has a good point, and those who were "bad" in R/B/Y, either have a new, better evolution, or can use better attacks/ their special defence is groovy. Soo... Post stuff, wadda you think? ------------------ Jman, G/S Researcher In-training Please check out my website, home of my studies at: http://all.at/jman

Not every Pokemon has a good point. Let's look at good old Arbok. With his glowing 256 Attack and Special Defense, he's really gonna be all the rage this year. Let's be serious; you still have to worry about playing the Power Pokemon, its just that there are counters to some now. But another problem is that some of our favorites got the shaft in G/S...Magneton and Omastar come to mind, seeing as their greatest quality was tankness, was taken from them. Then not every Pokemon has "groovy" Spcl. D either. The bulk of the Grounds show this, as everyone but Marowak's SD is over hovering at about 200, or their R/B Special. So, in conclusion, yes G/S made all Pokemon equal. But it also made some Pokemon more equal than others. Some Pokemon were enhanced, but it all had a cost; mainly in the demise of Poison and Grass as even being remotely considered viable. Others like Persian lost their reason for being, with the new CH formula. Kangaskhan was left out in right field, recieving no major boosts, and having others such as Ringuma fighting for the key Normal slot on Fun teams. In the end, no, not every final evolution is playable, and Nintendo still has a way to go...but there's always Plutonium/Uranium. -Rain Dance ------------------ Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Han Solo are sitting around playing a not-so-friently game of M:TG. Vader Fireballs Solo for the kill, Fett counters, and says "He's no good to me dead." -- A thought when I was really bored.
