Hey time for some rating/advising:
- Ice Beam
This is a fairly good set, and naturally a good poke. However, it will need leftovers or will die soon. I would by all means use this one, however here is an alternative set which I prefer:
This takes full advantage of high defense, allowing less risks with coating. People use grass/electric, which are s.e, and this will shock them. Rest for when the old energy is getting low. The second half is for attacking. Surf gets stab, and so at e140 base damage will do some good kicking. Quake or icebeam are good for type coverage and simply being se vs loads, while rain dance is for the daring. Blasty can take a thundere from zappy, and a mirror coat will send teh electric bird plummeting down from the skies. If they don't use thunder, you get another 50% bonus on surf.
- Ice Beam
- Ground Power
Oh no don't fall into the trap of hidden power solves everything. It is common mistake, but ground hp running of such a low attack will do zilch. Remember, surf is at over 140, so even if ground is s.e it is still the same, and surf runs off the better special attack. This is a good poke, and to make the most of it and crystal, try this set:
Basically, you can baton pass a great sub, as this one has humungous HP, surf gets good stab, though I am not sure about the last move. Anyway, I think there are vapo posts around.
This poke can haze well aswell.
- Confuse Ray
Again, a good poke. However, this si by no means IMO best set. It places too much on attacking, and this poke has quite a few weaknesses so could go down if the other team has mira/safeguard support. Plus, if you come up against a mirro coater/poke with high special defense its screwed.Try this:
A nice mixing pot, The standard surf for stab and decent overall power, body slam for paralysis and as a physical attack to counter to mirror coaters, plus you can link it well with c-ray to get parafusion. Safeguard, you should never say no to pseudo-passing. Ttry to get as much light screen/reflect/safeguard support as possible, it certainly helps.
Anyway, you gotta decide for yourself pal, these are all good.
Sorry for adding more probs, but I have always liked octillery:
lovely attacking stats, and the fact that it can learn flamethrower makes it invaluable.
not sure if this set is legal or any good, but screech acts as a switch forcer, or they get to be messed up when you hit with a rather nice cross chop.

A legendary is only legendary if it has a legendary set.
