edit: update is a later reply :scroll down:

I have an idea, tell me if this would work...

*Take pkmn leaf green.
*Get it to where it can mystery gift, save game.
*create a save dump, save it on c:\
*go to nintendo event, get aurora ticket, do nothing else with the game till you get back home
*dump new save

Would you be able to compare the hex differences in the two save files and see what turns on the "aurora ticket" ? That way, we could somewhat legally make our own [Razz]

If so, I might do this [Razz]

well i've already reversed it - by looking at the script the sailor checks. Read the ARfaq on gamefaqs for more info.

but it is true that Nintendo might activate some un-necessary bit as a check to see if the ticket/pkmn is legal however, correct?

In other words, yes we can make our own aurora tickets right now, but the Nintendo Machines might do it 0.0001% differently?

Well i can tell you what it's like in the eon ticket event:

There are 1000 bytes in the reserved for the eon Ticket (or other "Card" type events). If the chacksum is correct Pokemon actually executes that section (it's not really asm but some kind of pseudo code (like java bytecode), so they actually upload code. If you talk to you father then the uploaded event chacks if you have the ticket. If not he sets a flag, a counter and gives the ticket to you.

I am currently working on a method to exploit this in RS [Big Grin] that's why i know it. Maybe i'll post an event generator in the next weeks that depends on how much free time i have tho...

I think it's no different in with the BirthIsland/NalelRock events.

But if anyone would bother to upload to saves i'd really love to see them [Smile]

What is this "ARfaq" you speak of? I guess it's an acronym for something, but I can't figure out what... I tried searching for ARfaq on GameFAQs, but it turned up nothing...

Also, what does Aurora Ticket do? [Razz]

Is there some place with info on all these features, like special places, Mirage Island, special berries, etc?

It's the Action Replay FAQ, located here (the one at the very bottom of the page).

.edit: the update: I proceeded with said evil plan. It was no simple bit here and byte there, it fricken re-wrote like 50%+ of my save file! Some areas, it just changed what WAS in my pre-ticketed file to 0000000000 [why would it do that!?]

So, is it really a bunch of redundancy or was it actually required to make the ticket event occur?

To the best of my ability, the ONLY difference between the two save dumps I compared is one has the ticket sent and the other doesn't. No time elapsed, the character did not move, etc... Just went into "mystery gift" from the main menu... Please help me out haxx0rs [Razz]

P.S. For what it's worth, the "joy spot/wonder location/whatever you call it" is NOTHING MORE than a Gameboy with a special cartridge that constantly sends out a signal, placed inside what looks like a metal box to "appear" to look like a machine [Razz] [Razz] [Razz] [Razz] [Razz]
