(My first topic post here, not a good sign.)

Am I the only person being constantly slown down by that damn rank banner as it tries to load up after you post a message, and fails?

Is it against the agreement to put it on a page other than the fwding one?

Hmmm...icons are still scrambled. Interesting. They seem to be based on the internal hard drive index. Friggin weird.

Anyway...I have seen that stupid banner not work before, but it's always bumped me ahead regardless of whether it loads or not.

I'll see if I can get it off that page. The footers for the intermediate pages aren't explicitly listed, so I'll have to poke around a little...

OK, as a test, I have removed the banner from nearly all of the forum pages.

If this speeds up the forum for anyone, please let me know!

Yeah, the Pokemon Village sucks in that manner. Some days, it'll count your site getting no hits, then all of the sudden it rushed 500 hits in one frickin' day! That's just not right. (NB - I am refering to my low traffic site, so 500 is actually big to me!)

As you can see, I stuck with my decision to ditch the banner entirely. Not only was it slowing down the site, the guy in charge refused to admit that there was a problem.

So it's gone. No big loss.

I'm actually thinking about dropping the other Top 50 thing as well...
