I really like the flying leaf-winged brontosaurus, but it doesn't really have anything in terms of moves or stats.... is there anyway to make it good? The way I see it, a moveset of leech seed/sunny day/solarbeam/synthesis (with Chlorophyll as its ability) is the only viable option, and with its crappy special attack stats, it probably won't be able to use it really well. Growth could help, but it's not sturdy or fast enough to be able to pull enough of those off, especially since it doesn't learn stun spore or sleep powder. Are there any such moves that can help it in Colosseum or FR/LG...or should I finally come to terms with the fact that Tropius sucks?

Hey, I've used Tropius in every file.

As an HM whore. [Razz]

How's its attack looking? You might be able to pull off something like Sunny/Solar/Synthesis/Earthquake @ Leftovers, just take a neutral personality.

Unfortunately, its attack is even weaker than its special attack -- basically its only solid stat is its HP (99, IIRC). Its special defense is above average (high 80's), and its defense is barely above average (low 80's). Like I said, things would be a lot better if it could learn either stun spore or sleep powder, but as it stands, it's just a Venusaur without the offensive capabilities and sleep/paralysis moves. Oh yeah, and the 4X weakness to ice.... I don't get it -- why did they make something so weak when it looks so damn cool?
On a completely unrelated note, why did Dragonite get one of the crappiest abilities while similar pokes (Salamence, Tyranitar, Metagross and Altaria, among others) got ones that are actually helpful?

I always thought Tropius would make a good partner for Groudon (or another Pokémon that uses Sunny Day) in 2-on-2. Let the other guy set up the sun and have Tropius go to town... not just with Solar Beam, but Headbutt/Stomp and/or Body Slam seem like they'd work well when Tropius speeds up. Not much damage, but the side effects could prove useful...

but what do I know...

I think partnering it with Groudon might not be such a bad idea -- though it's obviously illegal on RSBot and the like -- especially since it learns Swords Dance in FR/LG. I'm thinking Swords Dance, Body Slam/Headbutt/Earthquake, Solar Beam, and Leech Seed/Synthesis. I don't know if it'll work, but I'm gonna give it a shot and see. Thanks!

Hey! Some of us Americans remember that France is our oldest ally! We're the ones who aren't challenged by spelling "I'm" and "not".
