Identical twins *are* essentially clones of each other, in that they have the same DNA. However, both questions would be like waying "if the same parents had kids twice, would they look the same, be the same, etc...?"

And, no, childbirth and having sex doesn't change your DNA, so making babies twice would be the same as four clones, (the guys clones of each other and the girls clones of each other) screwing once. The randomization factor still comes into play.

Now, what I don't know is if (1) it would be possible to genetically engineer a male and a female so that they would have the same DNA, and (2) if this was possible, if their kids would all have the same DNA.

Someone needs to have sexual reproduction explained to them. Shall we start with random gene pairing or "crossing over" of genes? Calc test and presentation prevent me from having time to explain this. Perhaps later tonight, if it hasn't been covered.

Genes are handed down randomly when people have children. If you have two people who are siblings (and no, not identical twins), both of them have the same identical parent-DNA, and yet thwey can be very different. The parings in the poll again have the same parent-DNA, so they'll look like siblings, but they won't look any closer than a standard pair of siblings (and again, no, not identical twins)

Correct. If your father and your uncle are genetically identical, and your mother and your aunt are genetically identical, then your cousins are genetically your siblings.

My mother has a twin, so my cousin is genetically my half sister.... *if* they are identical twins, which they claim (but I'm not totally sure).

I dunno. Maybe. Might be a problem with X chromosome or something. Dunno how that works.

Alright, how about another way to go about this. Are there specific genes that determine the gender so that you could engineer a human to be a clone of someone else with the exception of the gender genes?

And if you could do that, when they had sex, would their child be neuter sexed (i.e: have half female genes, half male genes, so that they ended up either being both male and female or being neither)?

One other note that came up when I came to the same answer with footitch is that you would also need to make all the genes dominant (well, or all recessive, I suppose) so there was no hybridization.
