Excuse my ignorance, but can an Action Replay (or anything else) be used to read an R/S pokemons IVs? I'm really getting sick of rare-candying to determing them. (I miss my Monster Brain).

you'd have to rip your saved game data, open it in a hex editor, and know what you're looking for...

This can be done with an AR for GBA...

I thought there was a Max Level code somewhere but I was wrong. Maybe Pika has one for pokemon already in your party? I only saw one for wild ones.

Thanks, MK, how hard is the ripping process, & is there anyplace that would let me know what to look for? Hex code per se is not a problem, I can count from 0 to F or even FF just fine. POkewaterking, thanks for responding, but I don't want to change the stats, just look at them.

Yeah I understood that Bugcatcher, what I was saying was I thought there was a max level code that only leveled up the IVs. Sorry ed, my wording online isn't very good these days. Even so I don't think there is a Max level code, it would be nice to check IVs.

If I could I would help pika out, if the calculator could effect pokemon in the first position in your party. I don't think it would work though.

if you have the Action Replay for GBA the ripping of the save game data is SUPER easy...

As for if you can make any sense of the save file is another story... you're on your own on that part, sry...

maybe there is something on google about it...

Is there a code to set the clock for daylight savings time? I can't switch the game clock ahead one hour and I don't want to start a new game after everything I have done is from hard work of leveling up evs day by day. Anyone?

Turn on your gamecube.

Immediately hold down the A button on controller 1.

Now go to the clock setting and change your gamecube's internal clock setting...

well the data for the first pokemon is always at the same offset in the sps file - no idea what but it's very easy to find if you use a cheated pokemon (calculator poke) put it there then dump the sps you know the data of the poke so simply search for that.

In any case that will not help much since ivs encrypted. to get them you will have to decrypt them (doing the opposite of what the pokemon calculator does). I will not describe it in detail here unless youre absolutely unable to get that info and you really need it. (I don't really want to talk about it much that kind of talk just attracts suckers who want 1530ev pokes or lame shit like that hmm maybe i should write an ev viewing tool... - umm wait i think i already started on a mb-rom once would be simple to port that code to windows - hmmhmmm)

OK, I bit the bullet, bought an AR. I was somehow assuming it could link to my PC, put a saved game there, and I could then right code to retrieve the IV information I want. There's no obvious way to do that. Can somebody help this clueless AR noob with ripping 101? Directions to a suitable web site will do. As you might guess, searches including Action Replay give me a lot of false hits.

Please either tell us exactly the name of the AR you bought (as written on the box) or post a pic/link of what the box looks like. Then we can assist...

Not sure how to post a scanned image without uploading somewhere else first. It looks somewhat like this picture, but the opening is larger, and there are lousy images suggestive of Yugi, a kyogre, and a groudon. Box says
