Do you think that political correctness is starting to go out of control? Here's a push to see what's happening to purge Christmas from being politically incorrect.
Christmas Trees are soon to be called "Holiday Trees".
P.S.: Sorry if I am not making that much sense.

Yet there are many that would argue that calling a Christmas Tree a "Holiday Tree" is a sign that we are forgetting the true reason Christmas exists, and further succumbing to the commercialization of the religious day. People, you can't have it both ways! ![[Mad]](mad.gif)

I don't think it's out of line to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I celebrate Christmas and realize that not everyone does.
I don't think people are going to start calling Christmas Trees, Holiday Trees. That would be like refering to a dreidel as a holiday spinner.

Christmas.
Incidentally, I think everyone should just celebrate Kwanzikaa just so kids don't feel dumb learning about something that doesn't exist.

I'm very anti-Christian but I still say Merry Christmas.
I also enjoy feeding pork to Jews.
Edit: Actually, I say Merriman Christmas [ 12-23-2005, 07:43 PM: Message edited by: MewtwoSama ]

I'm not happy just saying "happy holidays" it's too diluted. I must "merry christmas" all.

In the 1920s, there was a nutcase in New York who was trying to warn of a Jewish conspiracy to de-Christianize Christmas, by getting people to say "Happy Holidays", etc. It was so obviously lunatic that the newspapers essentially ignored him.
In the 1950s, the John Birch society warned that the UN was engaged in a war against Christmas by trying to get people to say "Happy Holidays", etc. This was so much stupider even than the "communist plot to fluoridate our water" that it got basically no media traction.
In the 2000s, rightwing Christian nutcases claimed that liberals were engaged in a war against Christmas by trying to get people to say "Happy Holidays", etc. Because it was treated as if it were an actual issue instead of a paranoid delusion by some influential news outlets (primarilly Fox news), the more gullible people across the country became worried about this looney conspiracy theory. Welcome to the 21st century, where no idea is too stupid to report seriously if it comes from far enough right!
