I'm thinking about going by a new SN for email and such, and I need your help. I'm thinking of the following names, and I wondered which of them is the best. I'm not looking at any real theme, but I'm trying to find a name that isn't corny and I won't grow tired of in a year or two. Suggestions would be appreciated. As you can see, I really suck horribly at making names, so don't flame me for lameness.

Or is "The Muffin King" already good?

Those are some pretty creative names. Unfortunately, due to the fact that you posted all these on Azure Heights, somebody (possibly Anthrax or Pornbot) is going to register all of them so that you are left with nothing. I suggest you delete this thread immediately. BTW, I like Nova Rane.

I'd be just as happy if the whole damn universe called me Uiru, online and offline. I can't see ever changing it (again). My first two names were bloody stupid, which is why they got changed. ^_^; They were cool at the time, but at the time I was also a silly little Intarweb newb. If you want to change your name simply for the sake of changing your name, you're probably going to get tired of it again later on. It has to have some sort of meaning or relevance.

..."The Muffin King" is an amusing name. I wouldn't mind having dominion over all muffindom. Mmm, muffins.

Actually I agree. Infact, my friends and I are probably going to use one of those names for our band, which is sort of a hard edged-prog rock group with techno influences. Currently, we're favoring "Oracle Visions" and "Crystallic Aura."

Oracle Visions: Pretty obvious, as Oracle's have visions. The idea is to say that something gives insight.

Nova Rain/Cane: Nova Rain implies that exploding stars are falling from the sky like rain. That is cool. Nova Cane is merely a play on words.

Power Underwhelming: If you don't get the StarCraft reference, yuo is teh suck.

Celestial Revelation/Celestial Sacrament: A sacrament or revelation descended from the heavens.

Ionic Storm/Ionic Sands: Ionic Storm is like a disruption in an electrical field, and Ionic Sands sounds cool.

Liquid Augur: Augur means a prophet or person who reveals something. This was inspired by DUNE and The Water of Life.

Crystallic Aura: Having an aura of crystals. Crystallic was just made up. If there's metallic, why can't there be crystallic?

Now, leave the Tool listening ruler of muffins to decide on a suitable nomenclature.

Actually, Nova Rain could be the ludicrous situation you describe (well, not actually, as stars are bigger than planets, but poetically you could have brilliant motes falling or whatever), or a new kind of rain, or the horrible situation that would result on an Earthlike planet if the sun were to radiate much more intensely- something that could happen during the opening stages of a nova, before it engulfs the planet. The intense heat on one side would find a huge temperature difference on the other side. Additionally, both words are rife with symbolism (particularly because "nova" implies "new" and "big fucking explosion).

That's why I think it isn't *totally* gay.
