It's a good idea to do the sample test first, before looking at the solution.

Midterm

Grading scheme

Homework (30 %)

I will assign homework problems to you each week. Assignment will be made available to you in the course homepage. Homework is due and collected at the end of the lesson on Thursday. Please write down your full name and student ID on it. Late homework will not be accepted.

Midterms (30 %)

There will be three 50-minute tests (held during the recitation classes). The test dates are: 2nd Oct, 30th Oct and 20th Nov. The test with lower score will be dropped and each of the other two remaining will be worth 15% towards the final grade. There will be no make-up tests.

Final (40 %)

The final would be on Tuesday, December 17th from 11am to 1:30pm at MPC 102. Scope (tentative): Stewart's book Sections 1.1-1.5, 2.1-2.6, 3.1-3.5, 3.7, 4.1-4.5, 7.1-7.3.

Calculators: You may use calculators on your homework, but only to check your work. Calculators, cellphones, and other electronic devices are NOT allowed during any exam (midterm, final exam).
Math Lab: The Math Lab, located in Ungar Building Room 302, is available to all students enrolled in this course. Tutors are available at the Math Lab by appointment or on a walk-in basis. See www.math.miami.edu/faci/mathlab.htm for information.
