Exams:
There will be three midterm exams and one final exam.  The midterm exams will be held during class in our classroom.  The schedule of exams is as follows:
You will be responsible for the material covered in the lectures, the readings, the labs, and the homework.

The date and time of the final is set by the registrar. (pdf)
If you have a conflict with any of these dates, then contact me as soon as possible.

Homeworks & Quizzes:
Homework will be assigned here every week on Tuesday and are due the following Tuesday.  Homeworks will be collected at the beginning of class each Tuesday.  Late homeworks will not be accepted.

Students should be prepared for an occasional short quiz on Friday in lab.    There will be no make-up quizzes.

The homework counts 10%.

Late Homeworks/Missed Exams:
No late homeworks will be accepted.  Two homework grades are dropped to give leeway for unexpected occurences.  A missed exam cannot be made up unless there is either prior (at least a week prior) approval or sufficient acceptable documentation for the absence.

Working together:
You are strongly encouraged to work on the homeworks and study exams with others.  Every assignment however is to be the product of your own work.

For example, a small group of classmates may together work out a difficult problem.  When it comes time to write up the solution, each student should write up their solution in his/her own hand finalizing the organization and presentation of the problem's solution independantly.

Exams must be done independantly.

Calculators and other devices:
Other than one's own self, a writing implement (with optional erasing capabilities) and a time piece are the only permitted tools for use on an exam.  Documented special needs may take certain exceptions.

Academic Honesty:
Each student will uphold the University of Miami Honor Code.  As a succinct reminder, each student will write out and sign the pledge on each exam:

UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI HONOR PLEDGE

I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this piece of work, and I understand
and will uphold the ideals of academic honesty as stated in the Honor Code.
