And I feel a certain connection to all that have written here -- whether Indian, Lebanese, Muslim, Jew, American... _wherever_ your home is. If Gibran touches so many people from so many different lands... might it be possible that each of us can touch each other's hearts? At least, we, who find a brother in Gibran, might be able to reconcile with each other. And that would be a very powerful example to the rest of our world. " I have gotten a few responses from individuals from diverse backgrounds.... these responses have inspired me to suggest that a group who find kinship with Gibran, might be inclined to form a web-based "International Gibran Society". Perhaps the purpose for such a society might be (but not necessarily limited to): on-going discussions of Gibran's works; loving reconciliation within our group to the end that it may serve as an example to the rest of the world's governments, societies, and cultures; discussion of current world issues within a "Gibranian" framework; discussion of spiritual endevours and pursuits... these are merely ideas and could be refined at a later time. It seems to me the best way to approach the creation of a "International Gibran Society" is to create an automated listserv - where members may subscribe, and each posting to the "list" goes to each member. Is there someone who might be willing to become the technical director of this listserv -- who could set-up the server and its resident program? My uncle, god rest his soul, was like the patriarch of the family and he turned on all of the 35 of so nephews and nieces to "The Prophet", which< I turned on my daughter to when she was young and now to my grandchildren. Remarks: At a point in my life i had little faith in humanity, Television and the media seem to rule the world and create monsters out of the children. I am reassured to know that there are pure, deep thinking people in our world, i have met ver y few in my 17 years. Kahlils, inspired writings contain the words of god within them and never before have I been so moved by poetry. By reading 'The Prophet' my paths have duplicated and he has pushed me into reading more about philosophy and theology. Lets hope more people find the truth as so many clearly have here, the world needs to recognise these 'real' things and the governments need to change their ways if we are to survive as humans.
