Remarks: Life has been one incredible ride. Kahlil Gibran has been great for my occasional attempts at grounding (when not watching T.V.) and this website feels like a wonderful place to go. Basically, I was born in L.A. raised in Anchorage, a nd have been using Portland as a base to travel/live/climb/"guide"/swim/try yoga/and work in differing locations such as Antarctica, Asia/Tibet, and Central/South America. My (current/snapshot)life philosophy(for me) is as follows: I feel, have a few lo ves/preferences, but know nothing but questions. I am afraid of answers that suggest to be "the whole picture" except in inherent and implied descreteness/interpretation of art or subjective experience--yet I appreciate any potential glimmers of gleenabl e insights. I can only try to honor and respect everyone's individual path(s?)/commonalities/feelings--yet sometimes wonder about that bridge in which we influence the paths/experiences of other people(let alone animals/ecology/etc). I expect my 7th grandchild in May and will seek to guide this little one as the others on a direction towards their own self knowledge. My life has been one of activism both politically and spiritually. Now (if I am allowed to continue in this space) I appreciate simplicity of thought and the time to refine inner peace. Remarks: The poetry of Kahlil Gibran truly touches the human soul. The Prophet expresses human nature in all of it's forms. I have been searching for the perfect quote for my graduation speech, and re-reading the Prologue today, I have found e xactly what I have wanted to say, in Gibran's words. This is an excellent tribute to Gibran, but there are several typos in both the Prologue and the Epilogue.
