Game Theory and Nash Equilibria

Friday, September 25, 2015, 5:00pm
Ungar Building Room 402

Abstract:

In this talk, we will give a brief overview of the notion of a Nash Equilibrium from game theory. Using a fixed-point theorem from topology, one can show that a Nash Equilibrium exists for every finite game with perfect information. We will also discuss some of the limitations of the definition of a Nash equilibrium in terms of the theory of extensive games.
