Ph.D. Qualifying Examinations

Students are given three years to pass:

  1. One exam relating to material from either MTH 630/631 or MTH 632/633
  2. One exam relating to material from either MTH 661/662 or MTH 640/641
  3. One exam relating to material in a special topic of your choice
    (approved by faculty in the area, and based on a year of 600-level work in the topic)

No exam may be taken more than twice.

The following syllabi are intended as a rough guide. The actual contents of the exams are determined by the qualifier committee.
