Summer Research Opportunities for Undergraduates in Mathematical and
Computational Ecology
Participate in a six week summer research program in Mathematical and Computational Ecology and get paid for it,
too!
We are happy to announce an intensive six-week research program "Modeling in Spatial Ecology"
June 20 - July 31, 2005
designed to give undergraduate students in Mathematics, Biology, and Marine Science a valuable and exciting
introduction into interdisciplinary research in Mathematical Ecology. Participating students will have the opportunity
to interact with some of the world's leading practitioners in this fast-expanding field and to conduct research under
their supervision.
The primary sponsor of the program is the National Science Foundation through its Research Experiences for
Undergraduates (REU) program and Grant #DMS0211367 and the Center for Sustainable Fisheries at the University of
Miami.
Support from the National Science Foundation is strictly limited to US citizens. Support for some Latin American
scientists may be available from a secondary sponsor.
The stipend for the six weeks will be $3000.
